Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has been ruled out for atleast four weeks due to the hamstring injury during the last weekend win over West Ham, Liverpool FC confirmed.
The 33-year-old midfielder picked up the injury during the Liverpool’s 4-1 win over West Ham at Anfield in premier league action on Saturday and limped out in the 56th minute.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed the news on Liverpool official website:
“Steven is, as reported, probably going to be (out for) up to about four weeks or so”
“So he’ll go through an extensive treatment programme over the next numbers of weeks and hopefully we can get him back that little bit sooner.”
Gerrard has scored three goals in 16 appearances in all competition this season and has helped his side to achieve the second place in the premier league table, five points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The 23-year-old midfielder, Jordan Henderson is likely to replace Injured Steven Gerrard for the upcoming match against the Spurs on Sunday.
