Manchester United have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly during this summer’s transfer window.
According to Il Mattino via Mirror, the Senegal international could be on his way out of Partenopei this summer due to their struggles in Serie A, and four Premier League giants are in the race for the defender’s signature.
Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have been credited with an interest, but the Red Devils are allegedly in pole position to sign the centre-back in a big-money deal.
The Italian outfit are said to be desperate to keep hold of the 28-year-old defender but might be forced into a sale should they fail to qualify for the Europa League.
Koulibaly, who has previously been linked with a move to PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester City, has not played in top-flight since the middle of December due to a thigh injury.
