Tottenham Hotspur plotting a summer move to re-sign Steven Caulker, after selling the defender to Cardiff City for £9m last summer, according to the reports from The Guardian.
It is understood the Spurs are keen to bring fresh faces to their defensive line this summer as the future of both the centre-back Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul is in doubt.
The injured – Younes Kaboul , whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season and will become a free agent, whereas Jan Vertonghen is expected to join Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer.
Spurs boss Tim Sherwood is likely to bring Caulker to their defence squad in summer, despite not knowing the buy-back clause in his contract.
However, it remains unclear whether the 22-year-old England international would be open to a return to White Hart Lane.
Premier League strugglers Cardiff currently sit second from the bottom with just seven games remaining, whilst the Spurs are currently sit in 6th place, and to travel Anfield for a Premier League action against Liverpool on Sunday.
