Liverpool are planning to launch a summer bid for Real Madrid left-back Marcelo, according to reports in talkSPORT.
It is understood, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring the elite players to the Anfield in the summer transfer window for a return to the Champions League next season and the defence department will remain a primary concern for Rodgers.
talkSPORT claims, the Reds are considering to spend money in top-class defenders this summer and suggested Los Blancos’s highly-rated defender Marcelo as a potential target.
The Brazil international has been a key first-team player under Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu since 2007. With a wealth of experience, playing over 200 times for the Spanish giants, the 25-year-old’s future looks set to star for his country in the World Cup 2014.
With just a year left on Marcelo’s current contract at the Bernabeu, the current Premier League leaders apparently are ready to lure Brazilian in the region of £25m.
