Barcelona are closely monitoring the rise of Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso, according to reports in Don Balon.
Barca coach Ernesto Valverde desperately wants a potential replacement to the club’s left-back Jordi Alba, who has helped the Catalans to three La Liga titles and a Champions League trophy in 2015.
Alonso, 26, had a successful debut season with Chelsea after joining the Blues on deadline day in the summer of 2016. He became an integral part in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation helping the west London outfit win the Premier League title previous season.
The Spain international’s progress has alerted the attention of Blaugrana and the Catalans are interested to upgrade their options in the next transfer window.
Alonso’s current deal at the Stamford Bridge valid until 2021.
