Real Madrid have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan to Bernabeu during this summer’s transfer window.
The speculation surrounding Gundogan’s future ‘has gathered pace’, with his contract at the Etihad Stadium due to expire in June 2023.
A recent report suggested that the Premier League champions are not planning to offer Gundogan an extension, which could see him sold this summer, with Barcelona and Arsenal both believed to be keen to sign the Germany international during the summer market.
However, according to journalist Ekrem Konur, there is firm interest from Real Madrid, with the La Liga giants identifying Gundogan as a leading summer target.
The midfielder has made 42 appearances in all competitions for City this term, contributing eight goals and six assists in the process.
