West Ham United: Adrian pens new contract

West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian has signed a new two-year contract with the Premier League outfit, which will keep him at the east London club until summer 2017.

The deal includes an option to extend for a further two years if they wish.

The 28-year-old joined the Hammers from Real Betis in 2013, and created the news when he scored the penalty that beat Everton in a FA Cup shootout last season.

“This is a proud moment for myself, my family and friends and I am really happy to have signed my second contract with the club,” the Spaniard told the club website.

“I feel really happy for the club and the fans. I never imagined this kind of relationship with the fans. I spent 16 years at Real Betis and it was difficult to leave your home.

“But from the moment I arrived in London the West Ham fans had a special relationship with me.”

Since making his debut for the London club in 2013, Adrian has established himself as a first-choice shot-stopper for the Hammers, starting all 38 games last season.
