Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Newcastle United.
The Magpies have spent over £100m on Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Matt Targett and Nick Pope, but they are looking to add more strength to their squad before Thursday’s deadline.
The Tyneside outfit are considering a move for Tielemans, who has less than 12 months to run on his current contract.
According to the Daily Mail, Eddie Howe’s side are exploring the possibility of signing the 25-year-old midfielder from Leicester City.
The Belgium international is believed to be keen to leave the King Power Stadium.
While Liverpool are also keeping close tabs on the situation, the Foxes’ valuation for the midfielder has not been met in the current transfer window.
Tielemans has played in all five of the clubs’ games across all competitions this season and is set to start Thursday’s Premier League encounter with Manchester United.
