Napoli keen on securing Christopher Nkunku deal
Napoli have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea.
The 27-year-old remains a sought-after talent thanks to his versatility, creativity, and clinical finishing.
Nkunku’s time at Chelsea has been a mixed bag. Signed from RB Leipzig in July 2023 amid high expectations, his debut season was marred by injuries. However, the current campaign has showcased glimpses of his brilliance, with 12 goals and four assists in just over 1,000 minutes—a testament to his quality when fit and firing.
Napoli’s rumoured loan approach reflects a cautious yet ambitious strategy. Conte’s squad, already buoyed by the addition of Romelu Lukaku, would benefit significantly from Nkunku’s dynamism in the final third. However, competition is fierce, with Paris Saint-Germain and other European heavyweights monitoring the situation closely.
Whether Chelsea are willing to part ways with the Frenchman remains to be seen. His recent form could convince the Blues to retain him, but if frustrations persist, a Serie A switch might reignite his career. The January window could mark a pivotal moment for both Nkunku and Napoli.
