RB Leipzig frontman Timo Werner has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United, according to The Daily Express.
The Red Devils are keen to sign the German international, although they are unlikely to land him in January.
United are keen on a deal to bring the 23-year-old striker to Old Trafford as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to add some extra depth to his squad.
The 20-time English champions have been left short on options up front this season after the departures of both Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku over the summer transfer window.
The report adds that Werner’s club RB Leipzig will be hoping to hold on to their asset until the end of the season at least.
Werner has been in impressive form for Die Roten Bullen in recent seasons, netting 68 goals in 124 games across all competitions.
Manchester United will return to Premier League action when they face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon.
