REPORT: Manchester United to announce Nicolas Gaitan signing

The Portuguese journalist Goncalo Lopes claims that Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Nicolas Gaitan from Benfica.

Lopes took to Twitter to reveal the news about Gaitan’s future.

The Argentina international has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past couple of weeks with reports suggesting that the 27-year-old could sign for the Premier League club with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea.

However, it seems that the midfielder – who established himself as one of a great players in European football with Benfica over the past few years – is completing a move to the Theatre of Dreams as the second signing of manager Louis van Gaal, followed by an agreement over PSV Eindhoven’s Memphis Depay.

The Red Devils are believed to be paying £21m for Gaitan’s services, who could improve Van Gaal’s attack considerably and push United towards a challenge for the EPL title next season.
