Liverpool defender Kolo Toure is said to be close to agreeing a new 12-month deal at Anfield.
The 34-year-old’s current deal is due to expire this summer, was expected to leave the Premier League club but now is hopeful he can sign a new contract that would see him to remain with the Merseyside club.

The Ivorian has confirmed that he is in talks with the club about a new deal that would see him at Anfield for yet another year under Brendan Rodgers.
“I think the situation will be resolved soon,” he told reporters as quoted by Liverpool Echo. “We are talking. There are few things more but we will see. Liverpool is a great club for me to stay at. Liverpool is going to be massive.
“I love Premier League football and I played all my years here and if I can finish here [at Liverpool] it would be great. I play for Liverpool right now and I am very happy and if it was to carry on, I’d be more than happy.”
Toure joined the Reds from Manchester City in 2013 on a free transfer and has made 45 appearances for the club during that time.
