Man United eye ambitious move for PSG midfielder Fabian Ruiz

Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on Paris Saint-Germain’s Fabian Ruiz as they look to overhaul their midfield this summer, according to Footmercato.

After a woeful campaign that saw the Red Devils finish 15th in the Premier League, bolstering the midfield has become a top priority. United’s engine room was often overrun last season, and Fabian Ruiz is emerging as a key target to fix that.

The 29-year-old Spain international has been a pivotal figure at PSG, forming a dominant midfield trio under Luis Enrique. His blend of composure, vision, and tactical intelligence helped the French giants to a Ligue 1 three-peat and strong European showings.

United Face Competition for Ruiz’s Signature

Footmercato reports that Manchester United have expressed concrete interest in Ruiz, but they’re not alone. Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr are also in the race and are prepared to offer a lucrative deal. PSG, meanwhile, are reluctant to sell, with Enrique still viewing Ruiz as an integral part of his squad.

If United want to secure the 6ft 2in midfield maestro, they’ll need to put forward a compelling offer—likely exceeding Ruiz’s £34 million Transfermarkt valuation and offering a bumper wage package to rival Al-Nassr’s proposal.

A Midfield Revamp in the Making

Ruben Amorim’s side already invested heavily last summer in Manuel Ugarte from PSG, but the Uruguayan has delivered mixed results—praised for his defensive work rate but questioned for his ball-playing abilities. Casemiro, now nearing 34, has struggled with form and fitness.

Bringing in Ruiz would add quality, experience, and balance to United’s midfield. His ability to dictate tempo, create from deep, and contribute defensively makes him an ideal partner for Bruno Fernandes in a potentially title-contending midfield.

A move for Fabian Ruiz signals Manchester United’s intent to return to the top—and they’ll have to act fast to beat out the competition.
