Manchester City are pondering to launch a massive summer bid to sign Liverpool forward Luis Suarez, reported in Spanish newspaper Marca.
The Citizens have been impressed by the Liverpool’s superstar, who scored 25 goals in 24 appearances despite missing his first five games of the season through suspension.
Suarez was in rumours to be linked with a move to Arsenal last summer. But, since the 27-year-old penned a new contract at Anfield before Christmas, he became the club’s highest-paid player – £200,000-per-week.
The controversial striker, whose contract at Anfield is valid until 2018 and it is unlikely that Liverpool are willing to sell the Premier League’s top goal scorer as they are focused on the Champions League football next season.
It is understood, The Reds likely to demand a fee in the region of the £80m, if they are serious about selling their superstar.
However, the report claims – The Sky Blues are the only one who could table a massive offer for the Uruguayan in this summer transfer window.
