Griezmann wants to remain with Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid ace Antoine Griezmann has expressed his desire to remain at the Vicente Calderón Stadium as the Frenchman continues his sensational form.

The attacking midfielder says he is happy with his current club amid reports linking him away to the Premier League.

Having scored 36 goals in 72 appearances, the 24-year-old forward has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe with his superb form since his €30m move from Real Sociedad in 2014.

“I do not feel the need to play in Ligue 1, nor in the Premier League or in Serie A,” Griezmann said on the Canal Football Club as quoted by Goal.com. “I am in Spain – I’m happy. Life here, football, I like it all.”

His recent form has attracted huge interest from some of Europe’s top heavyweight clubs, but the player is happy in Madrid, whose current contract is valid until 2020.

Griezmann has created 27 chances in 14 games, scoring 7 goals and provided 2 assists this season so far.
