Crystal Palace Join Race to Sign Sporting CP Striker Luis Suarez

Crystal Palace have entered the chase for Sporting CP forward Luis Javier Suarez, with Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Bournemouth also reportedly interested ahead of January.

Suarez’s Sensational 2026/27 Form

The Colombian has scored 12 goals and set up another in 14 appearances this season, including four in his first four Champions League group games. Reports from Fichajes suggest his valuation has climbed to around €30million, despite his contract in Lisbon running until June 2030.

Palace are said to be monitoring the 28-year-old, who could be offered a central role in their attack.

Rivals Circling for Suarez

Atletico Madrid are viewed as serious contenders, with Alexander Sorloth expected to leave in the winter window. Villarreal could also move if Georges Mikautadze departs, while Bournemouth remain in the picture.

Suarez’s representatives are expected to speak with interested clubs in early December. Sporting reportedly have no appetite for a loan and want a permanent deal at their asking price.

Is Suarez Right for Palace?

Four Champions League goals suggest his finishing can travel, though the Premier League’s physical and tactical demands are a different test. Palace could sell him a leading role, especially with uncertainty surrounding Jean-Philippe Mateta.

In my view, Atletico probably offer the clearest sporting pathway, yet Palace’s pitch of guaranteed responsibility could appeal to a striker eager to cement his place for Colombia. At €30million, the Eagles would need to be convinced his form is sustainable, but with three rivals involved, hesitating could prove costly.
