Done Deal: Tottenham Hotspur sign Moussa Sissoko

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United, that will keep him at the White Hart Lane until 2021.

Spurs have emerged as the front-runners to secure the Frenchman towards the summer transfer window deadline day after the midfielder decided against a move to Premier League rivals Everton.

Sissoko, 27, earlier confirmed that he had signed a five-year contract at the north London, and the club have now officially announced that the deal has been finalised more than 40 minutes after the deadline.

Tottenham are understood to have splashed £30m fee for Sissoko’s signature, although they will reportedly pay five instalments of £6m.

The playmaker, who had previously expressed his desire to make a move to Arsenal, will wear the number 17 shirt for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The former Toulouse player has notched up 133 appearances for the Magpies, contributing 12 goals, is Tottenham’s third signing of the deadline day after the arrival of Kevin-Georges Nkoudou from Marseille and goalkeeper Pau Lopez on loan from Espanyol.
