Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo beats Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to win Ballon d’Or for the fifth time.
Ronaldo’s stunning performances in 2017 have led to him winning the FIFA world player of the year for the fifth time in his career.
The Portugal international was crowned the prestigious award in London on Monday night. He has now tied rival Lionel Messi on five awards.
Ronaldo, who helped Real Madrid to win the La Liga title, and has scored at a prolific rate last year, has posted a message out on Twitter after winning the honour.

The 32-year-old has scored 42 goals in 46 games last season and has notched seven goals in 10 appearances this term.
