Chelsea have made a move to sign Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile.
The Blues have strengthened their central defence with multiple signings in the form of Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana last summer.
However, the West Londoners are now interested in signing Badiashile from AS Monaco.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Ligue 1 and Chelsea are determined to sign him next month.
According to Foot Mercato, Graham Potter’s side have made an opening bid of £30m for the Frenchman but are yet to receive a response.
Meanwhile, it has been suggested that the Premier League giants are not alone in the race with interest from Newcastle United, Sevilla and Manchester United are also said to be keen on the defender.
As things stand, the Stamford Bridge outfit appear in the front seat to sign Badiashile, provided Les Monegasques are satisfied with the offer on the table.
