Chelsea: Gary Cahill to get long-term deal

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, who has been in excellent form this season is likely to be offered a long-term contract for the Blues, according to the reports in The Mirror.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Blues from Bolton Wanderers has still three years left on his current contract, but manager Jose Mourinho is keen to extend Cahill’s contract for a long term that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2017, the report claims.

The England international has established himself as a country’s regular and has managed to secure a place in the Mourinho’s first team due to his outstanding form.

The centre back has helped his side to win the Champions League and the Europa League title.

Since he joined Chelsea in January 2012, Cahill has scored nine goals in 86 appearances so far and he was a part of the winning Champions League Trophy 2011-12.
