Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old has proven himself to be a key figure at Stamford Bridge. However, a recent dip in form and ongoing contract negotiations have put him in a situation where he may be sold later in 2023.
Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the England international, but foreign clubs are also in the race.
Bayern Munich are said to be keen on securing a deal for Mount and has an advantage due to the recent appointment of former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel as their head coach.
The midfielder was a regular player under Tuchel and could be a valuable addition to the Bundesliga outfit’s 3-4-3 formation. Although the Bavarians already have strong midfield options, Mount’s versatility makes him an attractive target.
However, the German champions reportedly plans to bid below Chelsea’s £50m valuation for the playmaker. Chelsea’s recent financial losses mean that the club’s owners may consider a fire-sale of players, with Mount being one of the players potentially made available.
