Tottenham Hotpsur have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Nayef Aguerd fro West Ham United in the summer.
Jeunes Footex reports that Spurs are interested in signing the Morocco international as a defensive reinforcement during the summer transfer window. However, it may be difficult for the Lilywhites to acquire him from West Ham, especially since they are local rivals.
Aguerd was highly regarded for his skill during his time in France, which prompted David Moyes to pay a significant amount to bring him to London to strengthen the team’s defence. Although an early-season injury prevented him from showcasing his abilities, his performances have improved as the season progressed.
The 27-year-old also had a remarkable World Cup campaign with Morocco, helping the team reach the semifinals.
He recently scored the winning goal in West Ham’s crucial game against Southampton, and his defensive contributions have garnered interest from other teams, such as Liverpool and Tottenham. The report also suggests that the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is interested in the Moroccan and would be open to adding him to Liverpool’s defence next season.
Tottenham are actively seeking a new left-sided defender and they are reportedly interested in Aguerd.
West Ham are unlikely to allow Aguerd to leave, especially to a local rival like Tottenham. However, if the Hammers are relegated in May, many of their key players could depart, including the centre-back.
