Manchester United defender Phil Jones has committed his future by signing a new long-term contract with the club that will keep him at the Old Trafford until 2019.
The England international joined the Red Devils from Blackburn Rovers in 2011 and since then he established himself as one of club’s greatest-ever defenders.

The 23-year-old usually plays in central defence, but his ability to fill right-back or in central midfield also comes in handy, he could be use in an established centre-back for the coming season.
Jones has made 128 appearances for the Red Devils but has struggled with various injuries problem during his four-years of career at the Old Trafford. He helped the club win the Premiership title in 2013.

Glad Phil Jones has signed, he might not be everyone’s cup of tea but he gives 110% for the badge and that’s all that matters to me #MUFC

Happy for Phil Jones, cannot doubt his desire and fight on the field. Just needs to stay fit, tie down a position and get a run of games

Phil Jones would be a better player if football and rugby merged to create a more Phil Jones appropriate sport.

Jones fortunate to get a relatively long #mufc contract. Has merits as a defender but deterioration over last four years a concern.
