Two Premier League clubs – Manchester City and Liverpool have joined the race to sign Turkish midfielder Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid before the transfer window closes, according to reports in The Express.
The Turkey international, who joined the La Liga from Galatasaray in 2011, since then he has established himself as a key player of Atletico’s first-team by scoring seven goals along with four assists in 28 appearances in all competitions this season.
City and Reds, both are believed to be plotting a move by the deadline of the current transfer window.
Liverpool have already missed their primary target Mohamed Salah, who recently joined Chelsea and the Reds manager Brendan Rodgers does not want to lose Turan in the current transfer window, which is believed to be an ideal option in his midfield department.
Although, The Sky Blues could offer him a more lucrative weekly wages and guaranteed first-team at Champions League this season.
The 26-year-old winger, who has already signed a new deal with the Spanish club earlier this season, that makes his release clause increase to £30m.
