Liverpool midfielder Raheem Sterling wants to leave the Merseyside club in search of Champions League football this summer, according to the BBC.
The 20-year-old is expected to meet Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers on Friday about his departure, the report claims.

However Sky Sports claims that the negotiation between the club and the player will happen later this week. It is also understood that the Reds are keen to keep hold of the England international and they have no intention of selling the youngster, who has two years left on his current contract at Anfield.
Meanwhile Manchester City are leading the race to secure the midfielder’s services, though Arsenal and other European heavyweights with the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in his signature.
Sturridge has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in Premier League this season.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the news:
LFC fans: Sterling is the best young player in the world. *Sterling confirms he’ll leave* LFC fans: Sterling is useless anyway, sell him.

Sterling’s agent busier off the pitch than his client has been on it recently. Surprise!

Not sure why Sterling expects to be treated like he’s world class. His career highlight so far was hitting the side netting at the World Cup

20 year old Raheem Sterling who has had 3 good matches in his whole career thinks he’s bigger than Liverpool. Modern football there.
