Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Sami Khedira to the Emirates, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.
The German international is all set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu after agreeing a four-year deal with the north London club worth €10m-a-season.
Khedira, 27, who has a year left on his contract – recently rejected a new two-year contract extension offer from the Spanish outfit, as a result – Los Blancos are keen to cash him in this transfer window.
It is understood that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been linked to Khedira in the past for some time. The former Stuttgart player’s has a close relationship with Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker that would give an immense boost to the Gunners ranks ahead of next season.
If Khedira arrives, he will become the sixth German player in Wenger’s first XI, along with Ozil, Mertesacker, Podolski, Serge Gnabry and Gideon Zelalem at the Emirates.
Arsenal have already signed Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez and going to make an exclusive deal for Khedira as well, surely they will be considered favourites to claim the Premier League title next season and I’m sure Khedira would be a great addition for the Gunners.
However, the report has come from a Spanish newspaper and not from official sources in Madrid, but it seems pretty sure that he is going to make a switch in the coming days.
