Report: Wenger confident of signing Thomas Lemar

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly confident of signing up Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco this summer, The Sun reports.

The north Londoners will have to shell out way more than the fee they paid to bring Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates earlier this month to get Thomas Lemar.

Wenger is pretty much confident that the Gunners will be able to get a deal done for the Frenchman.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to bring the 21-year-old winger to the north London this summer and are said to have had bids rejected by the Ligue 1 champions.

Gunners are currently on the lookout for their third summer acquisition after the FA Cup winners wrapped up deals to bring in Kolasinac and Lacazette.

Arsenal are getting ready for the Europa League next term after the Emirates outfit ended up in fifth place in the Premier League last term.

If the deal goes through, Lemar would join compatriot Alexandre Lacazette following the attacker’s club-record transfer from Lyon.
