Newcastle United are lining up a swoop for Bundesliga club 1899 Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch in the second half of the 2021/22 season.
The 26-year-old is capable of playing in a variety of positions, from midfield to a back four, which makes him versatile.
According to The Sun, Newcastle United are interested in signing the Austria international in the January transfer window as they aim to add further quality to their squad.
It was noted that the Magpies do face stern competition, though, as AS Roma are also said to be monitoring the situation, which will provide the playmaker with options.
Grillitsch could be available for free at the end of the current season, but the Premier League outfit are interested in securing him at the turn of the year.
