Newcastle United have reportedly outlined their intentions to move for Borussia Monchengladbach‘s Marcus Thuram.
There remains speculation surrounding the 23-year-old’s future with the German outfit as his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
The France international arrived at Monchengladbach from Guingamp in 2019 and he has since made a total of 119 appearances for the Bundesliga club across all competitions, recording 41 goals and 26 assists.
He has enjoyed an impressive campaign so far, scoring 13 times in 17 appearances, and he was rewarded with a call-up to the France national team squad for the 2022 World Cup.
One report claimed that Manchester United are weighing up a January move for the Frenchman. The likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus and Inter Milan are also thought to be weighing up a move for the forward, but Bild claims that Newcastle United are the latest club who are set to give tough competition to others for his signature.
Monchengladbach are prepared to entertain offers of as little as €12m when the January transfer window opens.
The Magpies have also been linked with a potential swoop for Barcelona’s Memphis Depay, who is contracted to the Catalan giants until June 2023.
