The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from the St. Mary’s last summer, but the South Coast outfit were reluctant to let go of the midfielder, who scored 10 goals in 30 appearances last season.
However, despite starting the campaign well with sensational displays against Manchester United and Chelsea, the former Red Bull Salzburg star has had a drastically dip in form which has not seen him score a single goal in their last 15 outings, with manager Ronald Koeman now planning to sell him this summer.
Koeman said: “We play a little bit different at the moment.
“We do not play with three in front, we play with two strikers and that is one reason Mane did not start.
“In the last few weeks he has been struggling a little bit with his performances.”
Mane joined the Saints in the summer of 2014 and has made 31 appearances this season, scoring seven goals along with eight assists.
