Manchester United have struck an agreement to sign highly-rated Liverpool academy prospect Isaac Konde, according to The Standard, in a transfer being viewed as a significant coup for the Old Trafford club.

The 16-year-old has opted to leave Merseyside behind and swap the red of Liverpool for the red of Manchester to further his development, with both clubs said to have reached an understanding over the move.

Academy business has become increasingly fierce in recent months, with clubs battling behind the scenes to secure the best young talent available. United’s capture of Konde from their fiercest rivals is a notable statement of intent, particularly given the player has been on Liverpool’s books since he was an Under-9. A compensation fee is expected to be agreed as part of the switch.

Konde’s Versatility Behind the Chase

While often described as a midfielder, Konde’s biggest asset is his versatility. He is comfortable through the centre, can drift onto the left flank, or push into a more advanced role, with scouts particularly impressed by his pace, close control and directness when running at defenders.
