Manchester City are reportedly keen on securing the signature of Crystal Palace midfielder Michael Olise as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez.
Olise’s performance has significantly improved since joining the Eagles, and he is now considered one of the best talents in his position, attracting interest from various English clubs.
Chelsea and Arsenal have also shown interest in the 21-year-old winger and may have already initiated talks with Crystal Palace. However, reports of a supposed £35 million release clause have been debunked, giving Palace an advantage in negotiations.
Manchester City view Olise as an ideal replacement for the departing Riyad Mahrez due to his Premier League experience and considerable talent. City head coach Pep Guardiola prefers wingers who can create scoring opportunities for central players, and Olise’s profile as a left-footed right-winger fits the criteria.
Both Manchester City and Chelsea have the firepower to entice Olise, but the Frenchman may lean towards staying in London. If Arsenal enters the race with determination, it could add further complexity to the situation.
Nevertheless, Guardiola and Manchester City are seriously pursuing Olise as they look for a worthy successor to Mahrez ahead of the winger’s move to Saudi Arabia.
