The Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest to sign Nice midfielder Jean Seri, according to The Sun.
United boss Jose Mourinho ramped up his interest in a move to lure the Ivory Coast international to The Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are feeling “bullish” in the mid-season transfer market following their successful swoop for Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
The report adds that Mourinho is pushing hard to sign Seri but it remains uncertain whether the 20-time English champion will sign the versatile playmaker in January or the summer.
The Portuguese boss is thought to have made reinforcing his midfield options a top priority following the acquisition of Sanchez.
Seri, 26, was one of Ligue 1’s greatest performers last season but his proposed move to Barcelona failed to materialise.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with a move to sign Seri over the past year or so.
The midfielder has scored seven times and registered nine assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances during the 2016-17 season.
Seri has struggled in the ongoing campaign and has only scored once in 16 games in the French top flight.
