Liverpool Transfer News: Mamardashvili Could Seek Exit if Alisson Signs New Deal
Giorgi Mamardashvili is reportedly prepared to push for a Liverpool departure in 2027 should Alisson Becker remain the Reds’ undisputed number one, according to Fichajes.

Why Mamardashvili Is Considering His Future at Anfield
The 26-year-old Georgian arrived from Valencia in a deal worth an initial £25million, before spending a further season on loan at Mestalla. Liverpool viewed him as Alisson’s long-term successor, yet that handover has not materialised. Despite being tied to a contract until 2031, he has made just one appearance this season, in the EFL Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Andoni Iraola continues to favour Alisson in the Premier League, which limits Mamardashvili’s opportunities. His 21 appearances last season came only because the Brazilian was sidelined with injury.
Alisson’s Contract Holds the Key
Liverpool extended Alisson’s deal until June 2027 after Juventus showed interest last summer. No further extension has been agreed, though the 34-year-old remains central to Iraola’s plans and is among the club’s vice-captains.
Should Alisson depart in 2027, the path would finally open for Mamardashvili. A fresh agreement, however, could convince the Georgian that waiting is no longer worthwhile.
Potential Destinations and Liverpool’s Stance
Juventus and Inter Milan have previously tracked the goalkeeper, who is valued at roughly €30million and reportedly earns around £4.4million a year. With his contract running for several more years, Liverpool face no pressure to cash in.
A loan could offer a compromise, allowing Mamardashvili to play regularly while Liverpool retain control of his future.
Our Take on Mamardashvili’s Liverpool Situation
This looks a tricky balancing act for Liverpool. Mamardashvili is clearly talented, and keeping a goalkeeper of his calibre on the bench is a luxury that rarely lasts. Alisson’s experience remains valuable, yet the club cannot let a long-term investment stagnate. Regular minutes, perhaps through a loan, would arguably suit everyone best.
