Liverpool are reportedly preparing an improved offer for the pursuit of Swansea striker Wilfried Bony after their initial offer was rejected by the Swans, according to the Express.
It has been reported the Reds were nowhere close to the £20m release-clause in the striker’s contract – the Merseyside club first offer was close to £12.5m, which was dismissed by the south Wales club.
The Ivory Coast international has been one of Liverpool’s primary targets after the departure of Luis Suarez, who has agreed to joined Barcelona this summer.
It is understood Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is desperately looking for a replacement of Suarez and the Northern Irishman is keen to secure the services of the 25-year-old man ahead of next season.
It is believed that a bigger bid around £15m plus significant add-ons will be enough to convince Swansea for his signature.
Bony has had an sensational debut season in the Premier League last term, scoring 16 goals in 34 League appearances, who has attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham.
Meanwhile, the Reds have also been linked with QPR’s Loic Remy and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, as they look to strengthen their squad for champions league next season.
