Liverpool Eye £50m Lamine Camara Transfer from Monaco in January
Liverpool are reportedly best placed to sign AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara when the January transfer window opens, according to Football Insider.

Monaco Now Open to Camara Sale
The Ligue 1 club are prepared to negotiate over the 22-year-old Senegal international, who is said to be receptive to leaving. Chelsea were close to agreeing a deal worth roughly £47m in the summer, but Monaco pulled out on deadline day. They had expected Folarin Balogun to depart, but his proposed move to Everton collapsed, so both players stayed put.
Liverpool’s Midfield Plans
Monaco have not lowered their valuation, and around £50m is expected to be required. Liverpool have kept tabs on Camara since the summer and are looking for a holding midfielder. With Chelsea no longer in the picture, the Reds appear to have a clear run.
Our Opinion
£50m is a sizeable outlay for a player who has only recently established himself at the top level, and Monaco know they hold the stronger hand. Even so, Camara’s blend of physicality and technical quality looks well suited to the Premier League. If Liverpool see central midfield as a genuine priority, the fee could be justified, particularly as both club and player are open to talks.
