Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has no desire of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus.
The German international, who refused to sign a contract extension with the Bundesliga club and he will be available for £20 million in the summer due to his buyout clause in his current contract at Westfalenstadion.
However, a number of top european heavy-weight clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City have been monitoring his situation, and the Portuguese manager confirms that he will not be signing the 25-year-old.
“We don’t want Marco Reus,” Mourinho told reporters. “The market is closed and the player belongs to Borussia. We have top players in this position. We are not interested, not at all.”
Reus contract expires in 2017 and he is expected to be out of action until January due to an ankle injury – he picked up in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Paderborn.
Chelsea are currently sit top of the Premier League table with 32 points in just 12 games and remain favourites among the football fans to win this year’s title.
