Everton Keen on Sevilla Defender

Everton are considering a summer move to sign highly-rated Sevilla defender Federico Fazio, according to the reports in Daily Mail.

It is understood that Everton scouts watched the Argentine in action in the Europa League fixture on Thursday.

The 26-year-old defender has been linked with The Toffees last summer for some time and now after scouting him once again it seems pretty obvious that Everton may look to have this deal with the centre back in the coming summer transfer window.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is keen to bolster their squad by spending big money on top class players in this summer and the priority will remain on the defender, hopefully Fazio will be the one of them.

The South American has got a wealth of experience, appeared 154 times in all competition since he joined Sevilla in 2007. He is also capable of playing in a midfield or in wide defensive role.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen on Fazio but it remains rumours whether their interest are serious or not.
