Done Deal: Henrikh Mkhitaryan joins Manchester United

Manchester United have announced the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from the Borussia Dortmund.

The Armenia international has put pen to a paper on a four-year deal with the option of a further year. He was one of Dortmund’s key players last season, having scored 23 goals and provided 32 assists in all competitions.

“I am very proud to join Manchester United, this move is a dream come true for me. I am excited to play for a club with such an illustrious history and hope to be part of it for a long time,” the midfielder told the club’s official website.

“I thank the trust the club and Jose Mourinho have put in me. Finally, I believe playing for such a great club honours my father’s memory, and the inspiration and drive he gave to me when I was young.”

The 27-year-old becomes the third signing at Old Trafford this summer, following the arrival of Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Mkhitaryan has scored 41 goals in 140 appearances over the past three seasons at the Westfalenstadion.
