Arsene Wenger confirms Koscielny to miss another month

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Laurent Koscielny will be ruled out for yet another four weeks as the defender continues to struggle with his injury.

The 29-year-old centre-back was diagnosed with the achilles trouble last month, and still they had not noted any favourable changes.

That means, the Frenchman will miss the crucial games against Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund this month.

However, Wenger told reporters: “You cannot think that he will be available in two weeks’ time. Then you have to see how he responds. He will not be available for three or four weeks. Inflammation you can never predict. He could not go on so we had no choice.

“You miss him every time you concede a silly goal. But we have conceded some with him there too. Ideally we want him there but could we have stopped the goals without Koscielny? I say yes so I think it would be a little bit escaping the real responsibility.”

The Gunners are currently fourth in the Premier League table with 17 points and ready to face Swansea City this Sunday at Liberty Stadium.
