Gomes managed just over 2,000 minutes at Porto, delivering 13 goal contributions — a solid return for a player still finding his feet at the top level. His dribbling ability, explosive pace, and eye for long-range strikes have clearly caught the eye.

Porto hold firm with a £69 million release clause, though Correio da Manhã reports the club would consider selling for around £52 million — complicated further by São Paulo holding a 20% sell-on clause from his development.

Arsenal’s Porto Connection

The Gunners have history with Porto. They previously signed Fábio Vieira from the Portuguese giants and most recently loaned Jakub Kiwior there on a deal that turned permanent. That goodwill makes sniffing around Gomes perfectly natural — but natural interest doesn’t always mean a deal gets done.

Why This Transfer Looks Unlikely
