AC Milan have reportedly joined the list of clubs wanting to sign Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor.
The Switzerland international has proven himself to be a key player for the Austrian Bundesliga champions, contributing 34 goals and 20 assists in 100 appearances across all competitions.
The former Basel youngster has scored 10 goals in 22 games for Salzburg so far this season.
His performances have understandably attracted interest from other top European clubs, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
A report earlier this month suggests that the Merseyside outfit are planning a mid-season move for Okafor, while Arsenal, Manchester City and Leeds United have also been credited with an interest.
However, Calciomercato claims that AC Milan are also in the race for Okafor’s signature.
The report adds that Rossoneri have been pursuing a deal for the 22-year-old forward for the last two-and-a-half years and the Italian giants expressed their admiration for the frontman when he played twice against them in the Champions League earlier this season.
Milan are keen to strike a deal with Salzburg at the turn of the year for the Swiss, who is said to be valued at €35m.
Okafor has a contract at Salzburg in June 2024.
