Real Madrid eye Jon Aramburu swoop

Real Sociedad full-back Jon Aramburu is making headlines in the Spanish top flight and has attracted significant interest from top European clubs, including Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan.

The 22-year-old defender split his developmental years between Spain and Venezuela, joining Real Sociedad’s academy initially but returning to Venezuela due to FIFA regulations, where he joined Deportivo La Guaira’s youth setup. His success at Deportivo La Guaira saw him break into their first team, paving the way for his eventual return to Spain in 2022.

After joining Real Sociedad from Real Union in August 2023, the Venezuelan quickly established himself as one of La Liga’s standout young full-backs.

He debuted for Real Sociedad’s senior team in November 2023, and his consistent performances have solidified his role in the team, with 26 appearances so far.

Aramburu has drawn attention from Los Blancos, who are searching for a successor to Dani Carvajal as he nears the end of his career. Although Real Madrid have Trent Alexander-Arnold on their radar, Aramburu’s potential makes him an appealing target as well.

The competition between Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan for Aramburu’s signature sets the stage for a high-profile transfer battle in the 2025 summer window.
