The La Liga giants Real Madrid have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva from Cruzeiro for a five-and-a-half-year deal at the Bernebeu.
The 21-year-old has agreed on a long-term deal until June 30, 2020 for a fee believed to be around £10.5m with Los Blancos, where he will be unveiled on Monday after undergoing a medical.
He becomes the second player to arrive at the Spanish capital in the January transfer window after the European champions signed the Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard.

Silva was a key figure at Cruzeiro, where he has won the two Brazilian league titles, and honoured as the league’s top defensive midfielder.
Madrid to travel to Cordoba on Saturday afternoon for their next La Liga action.
