The Brazilian superstar, who has been sidelined for the last two weeks with the mumps virus, joined the Catalans from Santos in 2013.
The above report claims that Manchester United’s chief executive, Ed Woodward, held secret talks with the La Liga champions over a potential move for the 23-year-old during a recent trip to Catalonia.
However, the striker is expected to sign a new contract at the Camp Nou in the coming days but according to the Sun, the Red Devils are trying to lure him away from the Spanish club.
Man United had also been linked with Neymar’s former teammate Pedro, who signed for Chelsea instead.
Here’s the best reaction on Twitter, which was extremely skeptical.
If ED Woodward ever pull off the signing of Neymar he will be the all time manunited Legend and he will deserve to be knighted #mufc

Oh dear now the rumours are that we’re in talks for Neymar, He’s one of my favourite players and I’d love him at United but won’t happen

Neymar? No thank you. Imagine Van Gaal with Neymar. Poor Brazilian wouldn’t last a day. Ain’t no fragile welcome at United. #MUFC

I imagine the ‘talks’ went as followed: ‘Can we buy Neymar?’ ‘No’ The End.
