Manchester United interested in Alex Remiro

Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro.

The decision comes in light of ongoing concerns regarding Andre Onana’s performances and the need for increased competition within the squad.

Remiro’s impressive form for the Basque outfit, with 20 clean sheets this season and a call-up to the Spanish national team, adds weight to Manchester United’s interest. However, the club’s substantial €70 million release clause presents a significant hurdle in negotiations.

The defensive struggles faced by the Red Devils, conceding 81 goals across all competitions, emphasise the urgency of strengthening their goalkeeping options.

While Onana’s potential replacement is under consideration, the club also eyes alternatives like Ivan Provedel from Lazio and Andriy Lunin from Real Madrid.

The pursuit of a capable second-choice keeper reflects Manchester United’s commitment to enhancing squad depth and creating healthy competition for starting positions.

Negotiations with Real Sociedad for Remiro’s transfer will likely involve strategic discussions to reach a feasible agreement.
