Manchester United are considering a surprise move for Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, according to the Daily Mail.
Although the Red Devils’ top choice is Andre Onana, they have yet to meet Inter Milan’s asking price of £52 million for the player.
Consequently, the 20-time English champions are exploring alternative options in the transfer market, with Sanchez being one of the potential targets.
The 25-year-old could be acquired from Brighton for around £30 million.
While Sanchez began last season as Brighton’s first-choice goalkeeper, he eventually lost his place to Jason Steele.
With the recent signing of Bart Verbruggen, it is widely anticipated that Sanchez will be sold during the summer transfer window.
The acquisition of Sanchez could provide an upgrade to United’s goalkeeper position following the expiration of David de Gea’s contract.
