Man Utd mulling over David Hancko deal

Manchester United are eyeing up 26-year-old Slovakian defender David Hancko from Feyenoord, according to The Athletic. The Red Devils are considering a summer move for Hancko, who impressed with his performances at UEFA Euro 2024.

Since joining Feyenoord from Sparta Praha in August 2022, Hancko has emerged as one of the top defenders in the Eredivisie. His solid displays helped Feyenoord clinch the 2022/23 Eredivisie title. Despite Feyenoord failing to defend their title last season, Hancko remained a key player, contributing 11 goals and eight assists in nearly 100 appearances for the club.

Hancko’s stellar form at both club and international levels has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United. The Red Devils, who are in the market for a new centre-back following Raphael Varane’s departure, view Hancko as a potential addition to their squad. Their interest in the Slovakian international is also fueled by a recent failed bid for Jarrad Branthwaite and their ongoing pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt.

Manchester United’s bid for Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille has been accepted, yet they continue to explore other options. Hancko’s defensive prowess and productivity make him a viable target for the Red Devils, though he is not yet their top priority. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will make a concrete move for Hancko this summer.
