Man United plot sensational move for Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, according to Football Insider.

Despite investing nearly £100m in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee over the last two summers, United still struggled in front of goal last season. New boss Ruben Amorim has already addressed the issue by signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, but further changes could be on the horizon.

Hojlund Exit Could Pave Way for Kane

Following Sesko’s arrival, United are open to letting Hojlund leave on loan, with AC Milan showing strong interest. That has sparked fresh talk of a pursuit for Kane, a long-time target for the Old Trafford club.

The 32-year-old England captain, who joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, has a £56m release clause that becomes active in January. Kane is said to be open to a Premier League return, though competition will be fierce — Liverpool are also keen, while Spurs hold matching rights on any bid.

Kane’s Bayern Success

Since moving to Germany, Kane has been prolific, helping Bayern lift silverware last season while maintaining his status as one of the best strikers in the world. Even in his 30s, his game intelligence and finishing ability make him a prime asset for any top club.

Will United Make Their Move?

While a summer deal appears unlikely, United could revisit the situation in 2025. However, with Sesko, Zirkzee, and youngster Chido Obi in the squad, some believe United’s transfer budget would be better spent on strengthening other areas.

Still, the lure of finally bringing Kane to Old Trafford may prove too tempting for Amorim and the United hierarchy — setting up a potential blockbuster pursuit next year.
