Man United join race for Nantes starlet Tylel Tati
Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool are reportedly locked in a transfer tussle for Nantes sensation Tylel Tati, according to Caught Offside.
At just 17 years old, Tati has already made his mark in Ligue 1, debuting against Paris Saint-Germain in the season opener and starting six of Nantes’ first seven league matches. The towering 6ft 3in left-footed defender has impressed scouts with his composure, athleticism, and versatility — capable of playing both at centre-back and fullback, and even stepping into midfield when needed.

Europe’s elite keeping tabs
Tati’s rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. Alongside United, Arsenal, and Liverpool, several other clubs are believed to be monitoring his progress — including Tottenham, Brentford, Brighton, and Aston Villa, as well as European heavyweights Barcelona, RB Leipzig, and Bayer Leverkusen.
Valued at around £5 million, the French teenager still has three years left on his Nantes contract, but the growing interest could make it difficult for the Ligue 1 side to hold onto their prized asset for much longer.
Where would Tati fit best?
For Arsenal, Mikel Arteta already boasts a stacked defensive unit, meaning Tati might find regular minutes hard to come by. In contrast, Liverpool could see him as the perfect long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk, who turns 35 next year — giving the youngster time to learn from one of the best in the game.
At Manchester United, injury issues for Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martínez, coupled with limited opportunities for Ayden Heaven, could open the door for Tati to make an impact. United scouts have reportedly been impressed, and a January move may be on the cards if he continues his fine form.
With Europe’s elite lining up, Tylel Tati looks set to become one of the most sought-after young defenders in world football.
